Establishing a safe, comfortable, and potent hypnotic environment
is our first step in trancework.
Trancework allows our clients to safely and comfortably discover what underlies the problem they are experiencing - the root cause that is often deep in the subconscious mind. Through the use of custom tailored trance-process, therapeutic guided meditation, and hypnotic technique our clients are able to remember, reframe, and release what has become stuck.
By uprooting the cause - the primary motivation that fuels the unwanted symptom, habit, or behaviour; our clients experience new freedom.
The subconscious mind wants its concerns to be understood and addressed. When a person is consciously unable to understand or remember for any reason, the subconscious mind continues to turn up the volume dial until it has our full attention; and we begin to feel symptoms that interfere with the daily enjoyment of our lives.
By directly addressing and resolving the concerns of the subconscious mind, the conscious and subconscious become more aligned, integrated, and unified; clients often feel a sense of peace and internal calmness that they have never known before.
For most of my life I've been fascinated by the power of the mind, and how human beings can intentionally use altered states of consciousness to bring about transformation and seemingly miraculous changes in how we experience our lives.
Hypnosis and hypnotherapy have been interests of mine since childhood, and it is an honour to guide and witness the transformation that trancework creates in the lives of my clients.
Trancework through meditation and ritual has been a significant part of my life. I have been exploring my own consciousness as an ordained Rinzai Zen priest and authorized teacher for 20 years.
Consciousness at the end-of-life is also a lifelong interest for me. I am currently the Spiritual Health Coordinator at Victoria Hospice.
In my personal life, I am a husband, a father of two teenagers, and a Great Dane owner. I am an actor, a singer, an avid reader and storyteller. I value honesty, integrity, and commitment bordering on zeal. Most of all, I value magic; and for me, the transformation that is possible through the power of the human mind is the most magical thing of all.
My work as a hypnotherapist is the result of many years spent dancing, teaching brain compatible dance education and engaging with children and families. I find hypnotherapy to be a dynamic, playful, creative, and effective modality with which to work with clients of all ages.
One of my personal core values is intention. It’s all too easy to get swept up in habit energy, peer pressure, family expectations, cultural norms, and the list goes on. Acting with intention requires us to be still, to be connected to our higher selves, to investigate the motivations behind our actions, and then align our beliefs and behaviours. All of the qualities found in being intentional are inherent and fundamental to hypnotherapy.
I believe a more intentional world is a happier and healthier world and what better place to start getting intentional than with our children.
